We’re pretty broken at this point.

So a couple of days ago, I got up at the usual time and headed into the studio to check on the guys, and to work more on Pixelated Planet, the band’s search for more members (drums, vocals, rhythm guitar), and the Rock Band stuff. When I got there though, I noticed that there was a strange package on the counter in the reception area, so right away I knew something was weird. It was in a typical shipping package, you know, the ones coated in white paper, but it lacked the stamp or return address.

Now, of course, I was pretty hesitant to open it. I mean, do we have enemies? Adam claimed that there was some dude that hocked a bomb at him from the old Bluefusion studios when it was still standing. So I just left it where it was and decided to talk to the others about it first. Mint and Aptiva had nothing to say, they didn’t hear or see anyone come in and leave the package, and Zoot was in power saver mode the whole time. Mysteri then came forward and after a few brief studders, and told me that Adam had been here with some girl, and that he was the one whom left the box behind for us.

So now that we knew it (probably) wasn’t a bomb or anything otherwise lethal, I opened it. Inside was a card, and Smoker’s marble; the one he released her from a few years ago. This was definitely strange, at this point I had a pretty bad feeling about the card, but decided to read it out loud anyway.

“Dear Marcus, Mysteri, and the idiots.

My girlfriend, Jennifer, just got a call from some talent agency over in Edmonton that thinks that she’d be great as a bassist for some all-female band that’s apparently in the works. Supposedly they have a singer and a keyboardist, and Jen just so happens to fit perfectly with their style.

Anyway, We recently got engaged, so y’know. Hands are tied and whatever. I’ve gotta move over there with her and there’s no way I’m commuting back and forth from another province just for the band. Hell, I don’t even know why I was still here after Smoker packed her blackmailing magic bags… Heh, maybe I just got soft on you guys or something.

So treat this as my formal resignation or whatever. Gonna start a new life over there in Edmonton and see where I can go from there. Marcus! Keep those bumbling idiots in line for me, alright? Best of luck with that.

And with that, we lose another member. Everyone was pretty stunned, even Mint and Aptiva dropped whatever they had started doing since I had began reading the letter. Wanting to say goodbye properly, I drove down to where Adam’s apartment was, but his landlord said they were showing off the suite to new tennants and that the old one had already moved out.

So, Adam, if you’re reading this, best of luck with your life over there! Thanks for tolorating us for as long as you have, and I’ll miss having that morning coffee with you every day! Tell Jennifer to kick some butt as the bassist for that new band! I’ll be the first in line to get their album whenever it happens! And come visit sometime! We’ll miss you!

I guess this means our search for another bassist begins…

Ace of the Sky, Freen in Green’s Duke Nukem Forever/Chinese Democracy

It’s been forever since our last post, hasn’t it? Well, since the Facebook is much more easy to update (and by extension, the Twitter, which is updated via the facebook.), we usually go from there. But this is a bit too long of a story to post on the facebook, so we may as well use this blog/site for something, right? Haha.

So, Sigma Skyship is the newest track on Pixelated Planet at the time of writing. How’re you all liking it? It’s fast paced and pretty rockin’, right? Well did you know that originally it was a lot more laid back and chill? Infact, it was a completely different song! Originally the song was titled “Lost in Flight”, and it was actually one of the first song ideas thrown around when the band was formed a few years ago! It was originally intended to be on This Album is Green, but was held back for Misc. Songs, and then again for Pixelated Planet. You could say this is the most evasive Freen in Green song ever.

The reason we had to can it again and replace it with Sigma Skyship was because the idea for air-base level called for something more intense and near-last-level’ish. It wouldn’t be climactic to have a sweet and peaceful song right during one of the most intense levels in the game, right? If you’ve noticed a progression so far, each song takes the intensity meter up a notch from the previous song. Since Sigma Skyship is pretty intense now, you can only imagine what the last level’s song will sound like!

So anyway, back to Ace of the Sky. We’re likely going to just suck it up and release it on Misc. Songs sometime later this year, ending it’s poor cycle of never being released. So I guess this is the very first announcement of a Misc. Songs track! Hope you’re as excited as we are to get this thing out, finally.

(I wanted to include Megaman Legends 3 in the title, but it had to be things that seemed like they were never happening, but eventually did an eternity later.)

Level 1 – Winter City!

Hey all! This is a quick post to let you know that Pixelated Planet has officially begun! Level 1 – Winter City starts the album rolling today on our bandcamp page! Now, we’re still facing problems with bass recordings, so there’ll be a version with Adam’s participation later on, but for now enjoy the tune!

‘Sup guys? Incase you don’t check our Facebook page often (Protip, that’s where we update the most!), synth player Mysteri released her own solo-project EP “Forever a Mysteri” to fill the gap between This Album is Green and Pixelated Planet. That’s also been added to our music page, along with Pixelated Planet.

Pixelated Planet Progress Update #1!

Hey all! Just a quick update to let you all know that our mixing board’s issues were sorted out! Apparently someone had tried filling the mic-in plug with cotton candy, which had subsequently crystallized and was blocking out any signals. Not entirely sure who did it, but we have a pretty good idea. Anyway, now that everything’s fixed and cleaned, it’s time to get back to work on the new album, which is sounding better than ever, by the way!

(Here’s a hint; There’s at least one sequel song on Pixelated Planet… I wonder which song it’s for?!)

Yeah, About that…

Bad news everyone! Our mixing deck broke and it’s not looking likely that we’ll have it fixed anytime soon, So it seems as though there’ll be a bit of a delay on Pixelated Planet. The other bad news is that not only did the mixing deck break, but Zoot’s harddrive got partially wiped, apparently resulting in the loss of a lot of our soundfonts we were going to use for the album, as well as some “horrible memories of being built”…Whatever that means. So everything’s in shambles over here, and that’s why we haven’t updated with any new FiG Chronicles lately and will continue not to for another little bit– sorry folks!

We will get this album fixed up though! It’ll be the best one yet! In the meantime, how about entering that Frontier Factory Remix Contest on Facebook?

8D OMG. HEY GUIZE. I dunno if I’m s’pose to write one of these things today BUT I WILL ANYWAY!!

SO LIKE I’m done so many songs on Pixelated Planet! I’m boooored alreadyyyy, ahhh! I wanna do another live show or a contest or SOMETHING! Marcus was talking about a remix contest thingy for all of our fans but he said no one really responded to the Facebook messages about that so there prolly wouldn’t be any people interested in doing that. >8( Aw man! I was looking forward to that, too!! BUT HEY if you guize have a cool idea for a contest LET US KNOOOW! 8D It’ll be AWESOME and stuff! Maybe we can make it so that the winner can be a part of a song on Pixelated Planet and get a sneak peek at it. 8) That’d be so cool. YOU’D GET TO HEAR MY NEAT NEW GUITAR PARTS! <3

BTW, The studio’s still got Christmas lights up, hyuck. I kinda think it’s funny but I CAN DIG IT. It’s SO SHINY <3 I dun want to take down all the pretty shiny things cuz it’s SO COOL! There’s still lots of snow over here too! Mint and I made an igloo and stuff! It was awesome. 8D Last night we just hung out in there and stuffs. It was coolasaurus! Literally! IT WAS REALLY COLD! But it’s ok! I can’t get frostbite! :’D Zoot tried staying with us but his processor or somethin’ got too cold and he said he needed to go inside for a bit, or run more processes… :C He didn’t come back… We built him a room on the third floor and everything!! (So the first song on Pixelated Planet is called Winter City. :’D Inspired by THE SNOOOW OMGGGG.)
